Weber State vs Utah State 12/15/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Utah State Aggies and the Weber State Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Dee Events Center. Utah State is currently 7-3 so far. The Aggies are coming off a win over New Orleans. As for Weber State, they’re 9-1 and fresh off a win versus Maine-Fort Kent. Utah State won six of their first seven games this year, taking out Richmond, Penn, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Texas Arlington and Carroll MT in that time. After losses to Saint Mary’s and BYU the Aggies got a win over New Orleans. 

Back on Saturday versus New Orleans, Utah State surged to a 48-17 halftime lead. The Aggies cruised with 34 points from there in an 82-50 win. Both Justin Bean and RJ Eytle-Rock put up 14 points apiece with a combined nine boards. 

Over on the Weber State side, they won their first eight over Western Colorado, Duquesne, UMass, Ball State, Green Bay, Dixie State, Northern Arizona and Portland State. The Wildcats lost to Washington State but then took out Maine-Fort Kent in their last game. 

Weber State didn’t have any issues against Maine-Fort Kent. The Wildcats took a 36-8 halftime edge and followed up with 46 more points in an 82-36 blowout win. Dontay Bassett posted 13 points with five rebounds to lead the way in that one. 

The Wildcats are 9-4 ATS in the last 13 at home and 17-8 ATS in their last 25 overall. The over is 5-2 in Weber State’s last seven overall. 

Meanwhile, the Aggies are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games. Utah State is 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall. 

PICK: I’m going to try Weber State here. I could go either way on this one, though; should be a good matchup. In any case, the Wildcats have been solid on offense so far this year, hitting 63 or more points in nine of 10 games and 80 or more points in six of 10. 

As for Utah State, they’ve hit 80 or more points in six of 10 games this year as well. We could very well have a high-scoring game here, and I like this one to be close. I think Weber State can ultimately eke out a cover, though.
