Marquette vs UConn 12/21/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The UConn Huskies and the Marquette Golden Eagles meet in college basketball action from Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night.

The UConn Huskies will look to bounce back from a 57-53 loss to Providence in their last game. R.J. Cole leads UConn in scoring with 16 PPG as well as in assists with 4.5 APG while Adama Sanogo has 15.6 PPG with 6.3 RPG but is currently out with an injury. Tyrese Martin has 13.1 PPG and 7.4 RPG to make up the scoring in double figures for UConn so far this season while Tyler Polley has 9.2 PPG and Andre Jackson has a team-high 8.1 RPG as well this season. The Marquette Golden Eagles will try to rebound from an 80-71 loss to Xavier last time out. Tyler Kolek also leads Marquette in assists with a team-high 5.8 APG as well this season. As a team, Marquette is averaging 72.8 PPG on 43% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 70.1% from the foul line while allowing 70.4 PPG on 41.7% shooting from the field and 31.9% from three this season.

UConn is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Tuesday games and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 road games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. I get the case that could be made either way here, but I’m siding with Marquette in this one. Maybe it’s the Hurley gene as Bobby at Arizona State and Danny coaching at UConn continue to get all of this unwarranted love from oddsmakers. The Huskies haven’t been dominant on the road this season to the point where I feel comfortable laying a couple of buckets with them on the road in a true road game. Marquette hasn’t been dominant at home either, but they’re more than capable of keeping this one close. Give me Marquette and the points here.
