CSU-Bakersfield vs CSU-Fullerton 12/30/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners meet Thursday in college basketball action from Icardo Center. Cal State Fullerton is 6-5 on the year so far. The Titans are coming off a win over Redlands. As for the Roadrunners, they’re 5-4 and fresh off a win versus Dartmouth. Cal State Fullerton went 4-4 over their first eight games this year, beating George Washington, San Diego, Northern AZ and Pacific in that stretch. After a loss to SDSU, the Titans took out Life Pacific and Redlands in their next pair. 

In the matchup versus Redlands, CSU Fullerton scored 40 points in the first half and 53 more from there in a 93-78 win. Leading scorer Vincent Lee put up 25 points with 10 rebounds, and both EJ Anosike and Damari Milstead posted 17 points apiece. 

Over on the CSU Bakersfield side, they opened up on a 4-2 run with wins versus Life Pacific, Colorado College, Boise State and Idaho. The Roadrunners would lose to Abilene Christian and Colorado before another victory versus Dartmouth. 

Matched up against Dartmouth back on December 21, CSU Bakersfield fell behind 31-26 at the break. The Roadrunners surged 35-26 from there in a 61-57 win. Justin McCall led the team on his 16 points, four rebounds and two assists. 

The Roadrunners are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 at home and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games. Cal State Bakersfield is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four overall. 

Meanwhile, the Titans are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Thursday games. The under is 6-1 in CSUF’s last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on CSU Fullerton. You could make a good case either way here though, depending on how the game flow goes. The Titans are coming off a pair of wins in favorable matchups. They scored well in those games, but overall CSUF’s offense has been all over the place this year. 

CSU Bakersfield has been in a similar situation: they score well in certain matchups but routinely struggle to hit 60 points in others. If CSU Fullerton can get their offense going at all in this one I think they’ll be fine on a cover/win.
