Coastal Carolina was outstanding on the defensive end against an overmatched Emory & Henry team and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 43-23 lead. Coastal Carolina shot 50.0% from the field & 23.5% from beyond the arc while holding Emory & Henry to just 35.4% shooting from the field & 26.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Chanticleers was Essam Mostafa who had a double-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, & 1 block.

On the season, Coastal Carolina is averaging 78.4 ppg on 47.0% shooting from the field. The Chanticleers are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Troy Trojans had their 5-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 10-5 on the season after being defeated by the UT-Arlington Mavericks, 62-57, this past Saturday. Troy led by a 55-49 margin with just 3:28 left in regulation, however, the Trojans struggled offensively down the stretch and UT-Arlington was able to secure the victory after finishing the final 2:33 of regulation on a 10-0 run. Coastal Carolina has been great on both ends of the court this season as the Chanticleers come into this game ranked 53rd in scoring offense, 85th in scoring defense, & 12th in defensive FG%. Troy has been led by their defense which ranks 105th in scoring defense & 78th in defensive FG%, however, the offense has struggled at times and comes into his matchup ranked just t-170th in scoring offense.

Costal Carolina has yet to pick up a win on the road this season, however, this has been a solid team that has impressive wins over South Carolina, Wintrhop, & Winthrop this season. Troy is a tough team to beat on the road, however, I think the Chanticleers defense will give Troy some trouble and as I think Coastal Carolina is just the better team, I’m taking Coastal Carolina and the point. Good Luck!
