The Northeastern Huskies will travel to the Atlantic Union Bank Center to take on the James Madison Dukes this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Northeastern Huskies lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 6-8 on the season after being defeated by the Towson Tigers, 70-67, this Sunday. Northeastern trailed by a 37-28 margin at halftime and could not fight back after Towson took a 64-49 lead with 7:17 left in regulation. Northeastern shot 40.4% from the field & 25.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Towson to shoot 47.2% from the field & 30.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Huskies was Chris Doherty who had a double-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, & 2 blocks.

On the season, Northeastern is averaging 64.9 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Huskies are averaging 6.5 three-pointers per game on 31.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Northeastern has been led by Shaquille Walters (12.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.6 apg), Jahmyl Telfort (12.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.8 apg), Nikola Djogo (12.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.3 spg), & Chris Doherty (11.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 1.6 apg).

Defensively, Northeastern is allowing their opponents to an average of 67.6 ppg on 43.6% shooting from the field. The Huskies have a rebound margin of 1.3 and a turnover margin of -3.1.

The James Madison Dukes had their 4-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 9-3 on the season after being defeated by the Hofstra Pride, 87-80, this past Sunday. James Madison struggled with turnovers against Hofstra and allowed Hofstra to pull away late after the Pride closed out the final 3:45 of regulation on an 8-0 run. James Madison shot 52.7% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Hofstra to shoot 47.1% from the field & 35.7% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Dukes was Vado Morse who had 24 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, James Madison is averaging 77.0 ppg on 47.7% shooting from the field. The Dukes are averaging 7.9 three-pointers per game on 34.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, James Madison has been led by Vado Morse (11.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.6 spg), Takal Molson (11.6 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.4 spg), Charles Falden (9.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.2 spg), & Julien Wooden (8.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.6 apg).

Defensively, James Madison is holding their opponents to an average of 65.3 ppg on 41.7% shooting from the field. The Dukes have a rebound margin of 1.3 and a turnover margin of 3.8.

The Huskies are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. James Madison, however, are just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Dukes are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games & 6-0 TS in their last 6 Tuesday games.

Northeastern has been led by their defense which ranks 151st in scoring defense, however, the offense has really struggled as the Huskies come into this game ranked just 306th in scoring offense, 200th in FG%, & 280th in 3P-FG%. James Madison has been solid on both ends of the court as the Dukes come into this game ranked t-76th in scoring offense, 38th in FG%, & 98th in scoring defense.

James Madison could not get a big win over Hofstra, however, I think that was more due to the fact Dukes hadn’t played for almost a month due to Covid-19. Northeastern has had plenty of success against James Madison in recent years, however, the Huskies are not nearly as strong of a team this season. James Madison is a better team on both ends of the court and as Northeastern is 0-6 on the road this season, I think James Madison does enough in this one to cover this small home spread. Good Luck!
