The Elon Phoenix and the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks meet in college basketball action from the Trask Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Elon Phoenix come into this game looking to bounce back from a 65-61 loss to Charleston last time out. Darius Burford has a team-high 12.2 PPG while Hunter McIntosh has 12.1 PPG with 2.9 APG and Torrence Watson has 10.1 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Elon up to this point in the season. Zac Ervin also has 9.5 PPG while Michael Graham has a tea-high 6.1 RPG to lead the Phoenix on the glass. As a team, Elon is averaging 69 PPG on 42.4% shooting from the field, 36.6% from three-point range and 74.7% from the foul line while allowing 75.3 PPG on 43.6% shooting from the field and 37.1% from three this season.

The UNC-Wilmington Seahawks will look to add to their current four-game winning streak after a 70-68 win over Delaware last time out. Jaylen Sims leads the Seahawks in scoring and rebounding with 12.4 PPG and 6.3 RPG while Mike Okauru has 11.8 PPG and a team-high 2.7 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for UNC-Wilmington this season. Shykeim Phillips also has 9.7 PPG and 3.5 RPG as well this season. As a team, UNC Wilmington is averaging 66.4 PPG on 39.1% shooting from the field, 31.5% from three and 66.5% from the foul line while allowing 66 PPG on 42.7% shooting from the field and 35.4% from three this season.

Elon is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games against a team with a winning home record while the under is 20-8 in their last 28 games overall. UNC-Wilmington is 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall and 5-21 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 home games.

I get why you could make a bit of a case for Elon, as this line kind of looks funky and the Phoenix tend to shoot the 3 fairly well. However, UNC-Wilmington is still the better team playing better basketball right now and the Phoenix, who like I mentioned are reliant on the three, have made half the threes they’re making on the road compared to their mark at home where the bulk of their success has come this season. I’ll side with UNCW at home here.
