The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Kansas Jayhawks meet in college basketball action from Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 70-60 win over Oklahoma State last time out. Taz Sherman leads WVU in scoring and assists with 19.9 PPG and 2.8 APG while Sean McNeil has 14.6 PPG to make up the duo of double-digit scorers for WVU so far this season. Jalen Bridges also has 8.6 PPG and 5.1 RPG while Gabe Osabuohien has 5.6 RPG to lead the Mountaineers on the glass. As a team, West Virginia is averaging 69.7 PPG on 44% shooting from the field, 32% from three and 66% from the foul line while allowing 61.3 PPG on 41.5% shooting from the field and 30.2% from three this season.

The Kansas Jayhawks will try to build on their 62-61 win over Iowa State last time out. Ochai Agbaji leads the Jayhawks in scoring with 20.6 PPG along with 4.6 RPG while Christian Braun has 16.1 PPG with a team-high 6.2 RPG to lead the Jayhawks on the glass and to make up the other half of the pair of double-digit scorers for Kansas so far this season. Remy Martin has 9.8 PPG with 3.1 APG while David McCormack has 8.1 PPG with 5.9 RPG. Jalen Wilson has 6 RPG and Dajuan Harris Jr. has a team-high 3.8 APG to lead Kansas in assists. As a team, Kansas is averaging 81.7 PPG on 50.1% shooting from the field, 36.9% from three and 70.9% from the foul line while allowing 66.8 PPG on 43% shooting from the field and 31.7% from three this season.

West Virginia is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the over is 21-7 in their last 28 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. Kansas is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games while the over is 11-5-1 in their last 17 games overall.

I get why Kansas would be favored at home in this game, but the Jayhawks were in almost the same boat against Iowa State and barely got out of that game with a win. West Virginia is more than capable of keeping this game close as well and I think we’ve got an interesting matchup brewing in this one, so give me West Virginia and the points in this one.
