The Omaha Mavericks and the South Dakota Coyotes meet Saturday in college basketball action from Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Omaha is 3-15 overall this year. The Mavericks lost to South Dakota State in their last game. As for South Dakota, they’re 9-7 so far and coming off a win over Denver. Omaha skidded to a 1-11 start this year with only an opener win over Hastings to show for it. The Mavericks are 2-4 since then, beating Western Illinois and North Dakota with losses otherwise to Oral Roberts, ND State, UMKC and South Dakota State.
In the South Dakota State matchup on Thursday, Omaha went into the break with a 49-40 deficit. The Mavericks kept up from there but still lost 95-86. Nick Ferrarini put up 17 points, and Kyle Luedtke managed 16 points with five rebounds.
Over on the Coyotes’ side, they opened the year at 7-7 with wins over Air Force, Southern U, Tennessee State, Presentation, Waldorf, Northern Arizona and Bellarmine. In the last pair South Dakota has managed wins over North Dakota and Denver.
Matched up against Denver on Thursday, the Coyotes posted a 44-34 halftime lead and held on for the 80-71 win. Kruz Perrott-Hunt led the team with 25 points and eight rebounds. Boogie Anderson added 12 points and four boards.
The Coyotes are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 overall and 1-6 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win. South Dakota is 2-7 ATS in their last nine Saturday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with South Dakota. The Coyotes put up a nice win over Denver in their last outing, shooting 45.3 percent from the field with 37 rebounds and 11 team assists. After a two-game lull, South Dakota has scored 75 or more points in each of their last two outings.
As for Omaha, they’ve scored fairly well in two of their last four games so this one may end up being a higher-total affair. I like the Coyotes better on a potential cover, though.
