The 22nd ranked Loyola Chicago Ramblers will travel to the Ford Center to take on the Evansville Purple Aces this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The 22nd ranked Loyola Chicago Ramblers won their 9th straight game and improved to 13-2 on the season after defeating the Indiana State Sycamores, 64-56, this past Saturday. Loyola Chicago trailed by a 33-30 margin at halftime, however, the Ramblers were outstanding defensively in the 2nd half and was able to pull away later after closing out the final 2:34 of regulation on a 7-0 run. Loyola Chicago shot 45.1% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc while holding Indiana State to just 37.9% shooting from the field & 28.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Ramblers was Lucas Williamson who had 17 points, 1 rebounds, 1 assist, & 2 steals.

On the season, Loyola Chicago is averaging 78.0 ppg on 49.6% shooting from the field. The Ramblers are averaging 9.5 three-pointers per game on 39.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Loyola Chicago has been led by Lucas Williamson (12.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.3 spg), Ryan Schwieger (11.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.4 apg), Braden Norris (9.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.1 spg), & Marquise Kennedy (8.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Loyola Chicago is holding their opponents to an average of 63.1 ppg on 42.0% shooting from the field. The Ramblers have a rebound margin of 3.3 and a turnover margin of 2.5.

The Evansville Purple Aces lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 4-11 on the season after being defeated by the Bradley Braves, 79-47, this past Wednesday night. Evansville struggled on both ends of the court against Bradley and could not fight back after the Braves took a 55-33 lead with 12:05 left in regulation. Evansville shot just 29.1% from the field & 24.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Bradley to shoot 48.4% from the field & 56.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Purple Aces was Jawaun Newton who had 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Evansville is averaging 60.5 ppg on 39.9% shooting from the field. The Purple Aces are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 31.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Evansville has been led by Shamar Givance (14.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.5 spg), Jawaun Newton (14.4 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.0 spg), Noah Frederking (7.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.3 spg), & Evan Kuhlman (6.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.7 apg).

Defensively, Evansville is allowing their opponents to an average of 67.4 ppg on 47.2% shooting from the field. The Purple Aces have a rebound margin of -4.5 and a turnover margin of 0.6.

The Ramblers are 3-6 ATS in their last 9 Tuesday games & just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. Evansville. The Purple Aces are 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 games and 2-4 ATS in their last 6 Tuesday home games.

Loyola Chicago has been outstanding on both ends of the court this season as the Ramblers come into this game ranked t-49th in scoring offense, 12th in FG%, & 45th in scoring defense. Evansville has been led by their defense which ranks 145th in scoring defense, however, the Purple Aces have really struggled offensively and come into this game ranked just 342nd in scoring offense & 323rd in FG%.

Loyola Chicago is the team to beat in the MVC once again, however, the Ramblers have struggled against Evansville ATS over the past few years, and I would not be shocked to see this game to be more competitive than what it seems on paper. Evansville is a much better team when they are playing at home which they showed with recent losses to Drake & Southern Illinois by just a combined three points, and as I think that the duo of Shamar Givance & Jawaun Newton will have some success on the offensive end in this one, I think Evansville does enough with the points to cover. Good Luck!
