The Colgate Raiders will travel to Sojka Pavilion to take on the Bucknell Bison this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Colgate Raiders won their 2nd straight game and improved to 6-10 on the season after defeating the Navy Midshipmen, 69-50, this past Thursday night. Colgate led by a 33-24 margin at halftime and had no trouble pulling away after taking a 61-45 lead with 8:21 left in regulation. Colgate shot 50.8% from the field & 15.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Navy to shoot 32.8% from the field & 53.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Raiders was Keegan Records who had 25 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Colgate is averaging 74.8 ppg on 45.2% shooting from the field. The Raiders are averaging 10.2 three-pointers per game on 38.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Colgate has been led by Nelly Cummings (16.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.5 spg), Jack Ferguson (12.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.3 spg), Tucker Richardson (10.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.8 apg), & Ryan Moffatt (9.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.3 spg).

Defensively, Colgate is allowing their opponents to average 71.4 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Raiders have a rebound margin of 0.6 and a turnover margin of -0.6.

The Bucknell Bison lost their 7th straight game and dropped to 3-15 on the season after being defeated by the American University Eagles, 63-55, this past Sunday. Bucknell trailed by a 26-23 margin at halftime and could not fight back after American University took a 48-34 lead with 12:21 left in the 2nd half. Bucknell shot 42.6% from the field & 40.0% from beyond the arc while allowing American University to shoot 45.8% from the field & 21.4% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bison was Andrew Funk who had 20 points, 1 rebound, & 2 assists.

On the season, Bucknell is averaging 69.9 ppg on 44.2% shooting from the field. The Bison are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 34.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Bucknell has been led by Andrew Funk (18.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.2 apg), Xander Rice (11.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.2 spg), Andre Screen (10.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.1 apg), & Jake van der Heijden (7.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 apg).

Defensively, Bucknell is allowing their opponents to average 79.8 ppg on 46.1% shooting from the field. The Bison have a rebound margin of -5.1 and a turnover margin of -4.4.

The Raiders are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games. The Bison are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record & 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Colgate is led by their offense which ranks 115th in scoring offense, 129th in FG%, & 24th in 3P-FG%, however, the Raiders defense has struggled a bit and comes into this matchup ranked just 244th in scoring offense & 245th in defensive FG%. Bucknell has really had issues on both ends of the court this season and come into this game ranked 226th in scoring offense, 340th in scoring defense, & 322nd in defensive FG%.

Colgate might have just a 6-10 record, however, this is still the team to beat in the Patriot League this season as the Raiders have an offense that can compete with anyone and have shown how dangerous they can be with wins at Syracuse & Navy. Bucknell has lost 10 of their last 11 games and as I just don’t see how their defense will be able to slow down Colgate in this one, I think Colgate pulls away in the 2nd half and win this one by double-digits to cover this large road spread. Good Luck!
