Eastern Kentucky vs Lipscomb 1/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Lipscomb Bisons will look to bounce back from a three-game losing streak after a 77-71 loss to Bellarmine last time out. Ahsan Asadullah has 17.5 PPG and 8.4 RPG in 11 games for Lipscomb so far this season while Jacob Ognacevic has 16.2 PPG with 5.5 RPG in 16 games to make up the scoring in double figures for Lipscomb so far this season. Greg Jones has 9.6 PPG while Parker Hazen has 8.2 PPG with 5.6 RPG and KJ Johnson has 8.5 PPG with a team-high 4.1 APG on the year. As a team, Lipscomb is averaging 76.3 PPG on 47.9% shooting from the field, 36.2% from three and 73.2% from the foul line while allowing 80.2 PPG on 44.4% shooting from the field and 37.4% from three this season.

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels will look to bounce back and snap a four-game losing streak after a 76-65 loss to Jacksonville State last time out. Jannson Williams leads the Colonels in scoring with 11.2 PPG with 5.7 RPG while Devontae Blanton has 10.6 PPG with team-highs of 6.1 RPG and 3.3 APG to lead the Colonels on the glass and in assists. Braxton Beverly and Cooper Robb each have 10.1 PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for EKU so far this season. Jomaru Brown has 9.7 PPG and Michael Moreno has 9.1 PPG with 5.6 RPG and Curt Lewis has 8.9 PPG on the year. As a team, Eastern Kentucky is averaging 81.1 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 70.7% from the foul line while allowing 71.7 PPG on 44.5% shooting from the field and 30.1% from three this season.

I get the case to be made for Lipscomb and the points here, but the problem is that Lipscomb haven’t been able to keep points off of the board in their last three games during this losing streak. Eastern Kentucky hasn’t had much luck in their own right and I think this is a spot where we struggle to get to the 160s as Eastern Kentucky isn’t likely a team to take advantage of Lipscomb’s defensive shortcomings.
