The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Nevada Wolf Pack meet Friday in college basketball action from Lawlor Events Center. Fresno State is currently 13-4 on the season and coming off a win over Utah State. As for Nevada, they’re sitting at 8-7 so far. The Wolf Pack lost to Wyoming in their last game. Fresno State went 10-4 over their first 14 games this year. The losses were to California, San Francisco, Utah and Boise State. Since then, the Bulldogs have won three straight games over San Jose State, UNLV and Utah State.

Matched up against Utah State on Tuesday, Fresno State was down 31-21 at halftime. The Bulldogs surged on a 40-23 run in the second half to take the 61-54 win. Deon Stroud topped the team with 14 points, and Orlando Robinson doubled on 11 points and 13 boards.

Over on the Nevada side, they began the year a sketchy 1-4, then hit a win streak to get back over .500 for the season. It’s been a spotty 2-3 run over the last five games, though. The losses in that time have been to Kansas, Boise State and Wyoming.

On Monday versus Wyoming, the Wolf Pack were within two points at the break but faded on a 37-29 deficit in the second half. The result was a 77-67 Nevada loss. Grant Sherfield was the team’s leading scorer with 20 points and eight assists.

The Wolf Pack are 15-5-2 ATS in the last 22 Friday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. Nevada is 0-4 ATS in their last four at home.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four Friday games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 overall. Fresno State is 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Fresno State here. The Bulldogs had a bad first half in their last game versus Utah State but recovered well to keep the win streak going. Fresno State has been a bit spotty scoring-wise lately though; they’ve been at fewer than 70 points in four of the last six games. As for Nevada, they’ve hit 70 points or more in three of their last four so I think they’ll be able to hold the pace here for most of the game. Should be a fun matchup; I think the Bulldogs can power out the cover.
