The Florida State Seminoles will travel to the Watsco Center to take on the Miami Hurricanes this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Florida State Seminoles won their 5th straight game and improved to 12-5 on the season after defeating the North Florida Ospreys, 86-73, this past Thursday. Florida State had more than they probably expected from North Florida and led by just a 59-55 midway through the 2nd half, however, the Seminoles offense was outstanding down the stretch and pulled away after taking a 75-62 lead with 5:44 left in regulation. Florida State shot 55.9% from the field & 27.3% from beyond the arc while allowing North Florida to shoot 46.8% from the field & 58.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Seminoles was Matthew Cleveland who had a double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Florida State is averaging 74.3 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Seminoles are averaging 7.2 three-pointers per game on 34.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Florida State has been led by Caleb Mills (13.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.8 spg), Matthew Cleveland (11.2 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.1 apg), Malik Osborne (10.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.0 spg), & Anthony Polite (9.2 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.6 spg). Malik Osborne missed last game due to an undefined ailment and is questionable for this matchup.

Defensively, Florida State is allowing their opponents to average 69.0 ppg on 43.1% shooting from the field. The Seminoles have a rebound margin of 1.7 and a turnover margin of 3.9.

The Miami Hurricanes improved to 14-4 on the season after defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels, 85-57, this past Tuesday. Miami dominated North Carolina on both ends of the court throughout the entire game and had no trouble picking up the victory after going into halftime with a 49-22 lead. Miami shot 46.0% from the field & 46.4% from beyond the arc while holding North Carolina to 33.8% shooting from the field & 20.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Hurricanes was Isaiah Wong who had 25 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Miami is averaging 76.8 ppg on 47.1% shooting from the field. The Hurricanes are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 36.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Miami has been led by Kameron McGusty (18.1 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.7 spg), Isaiah Wong (16.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.0 spg), Charlie Moore (12.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.9 apg, 2.0 spg), & Jordan Miller (8.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.6 spg).

Defensviely, Miami is allowing their opponents to average 72.3 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Hurricanes have a rebound margin of -4.6 and a turnover margin of 4.6.

The Hurricanes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall & 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Seminoles are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games & just 7-10 ATS overall on the season.

Florida State has been led by their offense which ranks 122nd in scoring offense & 145th in FG%, and although they have done a nice job forcing turnovers, the defense has struggled a bit as they come into this game ranked just 180th in scoring defense, 201st in defensive FG%, & 171st in rebound margin. Miami has been led by their offense which ranks 70th in scoring offense, 46th in FG%, & 65th in 3P-FG%, however, like Florida State, can struggle a bit on the defensive side of the ball as the Hurricanes currently rank just 268th in scoring defense & 289th in defensive FG%.

Miami has won 11 of their last 12 games, however, that lone loss was at the hands of Florida State, in a 65-64 loss at Florida State about two weeks ago. Despite that loss, Miami has been impressive at home, posting a 9-1 record and between the fact that Florida State has a losing road record and that I think the Miami offense has more success offensively on their home court against a Seminoles defense that has allowed opponents to average 76.0 ppg over thier last 3 road games, I think Miami gets revenge on their in-state rivals in this one and do enough to cover this small spread. Good Luck!
