Wofford vs Furman 1/22/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Furman Paladins and the Wofford Terriers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Furman is sitting at 13-7 this year and coming off a win over Western Carolina. As for Wofford, they’re currently 12-7 so far. The Terriers beat the Citadel in their last game. Furman hit a 9-6 run out of the gate this year with losses to Belmont, Navy, Winthrop, North Carolina, Mississippi State and VMI. It’s been a nice 4-1 run for the Paladins since with wins over UNC Greensboro, Mercer, East Tennessee State and Western Carolina. 

In the matchup versus Western Carolina on Wednesday, the Paladins posted a nice 33-16 edge in the first half and a 55-34 run in the second for an 88-50 blowout win. Mike Bothwell was the leading scorer on 26 points and three rebounds. 

Over on the Wofford side, they went a choppy 9-7 over their first 16 games. The losses were to Clemson, South Carolina, Richmond, Coastal Carolina, VMI, Chattanooga and UNCG. Since then it’s been wins over Samford, Western Carolina and the Citadel. 

Matched up against the Citadel on Wednesday, the Terriers posted 40 points in the first half and 49 more from there in an 89-77 victory. Max Klesmit was tops on 27 points and five rebounds. BJ Mack added 25 points and four assists as well. 

The Terriers are 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. The over is 5-2 in Wofford’s last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Paladins are 4-13-2 ATS in their last 19 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. Furman is 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Wofford. The Terriers posted a nice 53.2 percent shooting with 33 rebounds in the win over the Citadel their last time out. Wofford has scored well lately; they’ve hit 84 or more points in each of their last three games. 

As for Furman, they’re on a solid 4-1 run themselves and also scoring well. This should be a pretty fun and competitive matchup overall, but I’m leaning slightly toward Wofford on a potential cover.
