The Harvard Crimson and the Cornell Big Red meet in college basketball action from Bartels Hall on Saturday afternoon.

The Harvard Crimson will look to build on back-to-back wins and wins in 5 of 6 after a 60-59 win over Dartmouth last time out. Noah Kirkwood leads Harvard in scoring with 17.5 PPG and 5.3 RPG as well as a team-high 3.3 APG to lead the Crimson in assists while Chris Ledlum has 16.7 PPG with a team-high 9.3 RPG to lead the Crimson on the glass and Luka Sakota has 10.8 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Harvard this season. As a team, Harvard is averaging 75.8 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 34.6% from three and 72.8% from the foul line while allowing 69.4 PPG on 43.1% shooting from the field and 37.7% from three this season.

The Cornell Big Red will try to bounce back from a three-game losing streak after a 96-69 loss to Yale last time out. Jordan Jones leads the Big Red in scoring with 12.7 PPG along with 2.9 RPG as the lone double-digit scorer for Cornell so far this season. Keller Boothby has 9.5 PPG with 4.1 RPG while Chris Manon also has 9.5 PPG and Kobe Dickson has a team-high 4.9 RPG and 3.2 APG to lead the Big Red on the glass and in assists this season. As a team, Cornell is averaging 82.1 PPG on 46.7% shooting from the field, 35.9% from three and 67.9% from the foul line while allowing 76.1 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field and 32.5% from three this season.

Harvard is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Cornell is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the reason that Harvard looks attractive here, as Cornell’s lost three straight, but the Big Red are a far better team at home this season and while Harvard’s bagged a couple of road wins in their recent games, you have to do more than beat Dartmouth and Columbia to earn points here. I’ll side with Cornell at home in this one.
