The LSU Tigers and the Tennessee Volunteers meet in college basketball action from the Thompson-Boling Arena on Saturday.

The LSU Tigers will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 70-67 loss to Alabama last time out. Tari Eason leads the Tigers in scoring with 16 PPG along with 7.2 RPG while Darius Days has 13.5 PPG with a team-high 7.4 RPG to lead LSU on the glass and Xavier Pinson has 10.9 PPG with a team-high 4.6 APG to lead LSU in the assist department and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for LSU so far this season. Efton Reid has 7.7 PPG with 5 RPG as well for the Tigers while Brandon Murray and Eric Gaines each have 9+ PPG as well on the year. As a team, LSU is averaging 74.6 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field, 32.8% from three and 71.5% from the foul line while allowing 57.7 PPG on 35.3% shooting from the field and 26% from three this season.

The Tennessee Volunteers will try to build on their 68-60 win over Vanderbilt last time out. Santiago Vescovi leads the Volunteers in scoring with 14 PPG and 3.1 APG while Kennedy Chandler has 13.6 PPG with 3.2 RPG and a team-high 4.9 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for Tennessee so far this season as the Vols’ leading assist man. Olivier Nkamkoua has 8.9 PPG with 5.6 RPG while John Fulkerson has 5.6 RPG of his own this season. As a team, Tennessee is averaging 75.1 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 32.4% from three and 68.1% from the foul line while allowing 63.4 PPG on 41.3% shooting from the field and 33.5% from three this season.

LSU is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall while the under is 11-1 in their last 12 games following an ATS win. Tennessee is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 Saturday games while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 games overall.

This is a tough, tough game and one that I’m probably going to watch rather than bet. However, this is a tall task for LSU with Xavier Pinson ruled out for this game with his knee issue. Tennessee has been solid at home and we already saw LSU stumble twice on the road against solid competition this season like Auburn and Alabama, and I think the Vols are more than capable of getting the job done at home in this one.
