The UNC-Wilmington Seahawks and the Northeastern Huskies meet in college basketball action from the Matthews Arena on Monday night.

The UNC-Wilmington Seahawks will be out to build on their 81-77 win over Towson last time out. Jaylen Sims leads the Seahawks in scoring and rebounding with 13.7 PPG and 5.9 RPG while Mike Okauru has 11.4 PPG and a team-high 2.9 APG and Shykeim Phillips also has 11.2 PPG and 3.7 RPG as well to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for UNC-Wilmington this season. As a team, UNC Wilmington is averaging 69.3 PPG on 40.4% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 69% from the foul line while allowing 67.7 PPG on 44% shooting from the field and 35.6% from three this season.

The Northeastern Huskies will look to snap an eight-game losing skid after a 72-50 loss to Hofstra last time out. Jahmyl Telfort leads the Huskies in scoring with 13.1 PPG while Shaquille Walters has 12.6 PPG with 4.6 RPG and a team-high 2.7 APG to lead the Huskies in assists. Nikola Djogo has 11.5 PPG with 5.1 RPG and Chris Doherty’s got 10.7 PPG with a team-high 9.2 RPG to lead the Huskies on the glass and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Northeastern up to this point in the year. As a team, Northeastern is averaging 64.9 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 31.9% from three and 73.4% from the foul line while allowing 70.5 PPG on 45.7% shooting from the field and 35.6% from three this season.

UNC-Wilmington is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS win and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games against a team with a losing home record. Northeastern is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a double-digit loss at home while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 home games against a team with a road winning percentage above .600.

Maybe it’s me getting suckered in, but I can’t pass up a free bucket in this spot. UNC-Wilmington’s won eight straight, including back-to-back games against two of the conference’s best in Towson and JMU while Northeastern’s lost eight straight. Home court’s mattered as the home side’s covered in five of the last six, but other than that I don’t see a reason to back the Huskies here. Give me the Seahawks in this one.
