The Stanford Cardinal and the USC Trojans meet in college basketball action from the Galen Center on Thursday night.

The Stanford Cardinal will look to build on a 79-76 win over Arizona State last time out. Harrison Ingram leads the Cardinal with 11.5 PPG and 7.1 RPG with 2.8 APG while Jaiden Delaire has 11.1 PPG with 4.5 RPG and Spencer Jones has 10 PPG with 4.3 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Stanford so far this season. Michael O’Connell also has a team-high 3.9 APG to lead Stanford in assists as well this season. As a team, Stanford is averaging 69.6 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 35.2% from three and 65.7% from the foul line while allowing 70.1 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field and 32.4% from three this season.

The USC Trojans will try to add to their three-game win streak after a 78-56 win over Arizona State last time out. Isaiah Mobley leads USC in scoring, rebounding and assists with 14.7 PPG 3.1 APG and 8.7 RPG while Chevez Goodwin has 12.8 PPG and 7.5 RPG. Boogie Ellis has 12.2 PPG with 2.8 APG and Drew Peterson’s got 11.5 PPG with 5.9 RPG and 3 APG up to this point in the season for the Trojans. Max Agbonkpolo also has 8.2 PPG and 3.7 RPG as well this season for USC. As a team, USC is averaging 75 PPG on 47.3% shooting from the field, 35.8% from three and 62.4% from the foul line while allowing 63 PPG on 36.9% shooting from the field and 31.5% from three this season.

Stanford is 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600 while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. USC is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a win by 20 or more points while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m going to be siding with USC here. The Trojans are just the far better team defensively and have done a good job beating up on inferior opposition at home this season. Stanford has had mixed results despite not having an overly tough road schedule so far this season and I think this is a spot where the Trojans bag a 15-point win. Give me USC laying the points here.
