The UNLV Rebels will travel to Moby Arena to take on the Colorado State Rams this Friday night in College Basketball action.

The UNLV Rebels dropped to 11-9 on the season after being defeated by the San Diego Aztecs, 80-55, this past Monday. UNLV had no answers on either end of the court for the Aztecs and could not fight back after San Diego State went into halftime with a 42-23 lead. UNLV shot 31.7% from the field & 28.0% from beyond the arc while allowing San Diego State to shoot 52.5% from the field & 35.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Rebels was Bryce Hamilton who had 23 points, 6 rebounds, & 2 steals.

On the season, UNLV is averaging 70.3 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Rebels are averaging 7.7 three-pointers per game on 32.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UNLV has been led by Bryce Hamilton (19.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.1 spg), Donovan Williams (13.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.1 apg), Royce Hamm Jr. (8.6 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 1.0 bpg), & Jordan McCabe (6.4 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, UNLV is allowing their opponents to average 66.2 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field. The Rebels have a rebound margin of -0.1 and a turnover margin of 1.5.

The Colorado State Rams won their 5th straight game and improved to 16-1 on the season after defeating the Nevada Wolf Pack, 77-66, this past Tuesday. Colorado State trailed by a 34-27 margin at halftime, however, the Rams were outstanding on the offensive end in the 2nd half and pulled away late after a 10-0 Rams run gave Colorado State a 73-63 lead with 1:27 left in regulation. Colorado State shot 49.1% from the field & 34.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Nevada to shoot 47.1% from the field & 28.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Rams was David Roddy who had 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Colorado State is averaging 78.5 ppg on 50.2% shooting from the field. The Rams are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 38.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Colorado State has been led by David Roddy (18.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.2 spg, 1.1 bpg), Isaiah Stevens (15.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 5.2 apg, 1.3 spg), John Tonje (10.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg), & Dischon Thomas (7.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.1 apg).

Defensively, Colorado State is holding their opponents to an average of 65.6 ppg on 42.1% shooting from the field. The Rams have a rebound margin of 2.8 and a turnover margin of 2.1.

The Rebels are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games & 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. Colorado State is 9-7 ATS on the season, however, are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Friday home games.

UNLV has been led by their defense which ranks 102nd in scoring defense & 89th in defensive FG%, however, the Rebels have struggled on the offensive end and currently ranks just 209th in scoring offense, 274th in FG%, & 248th in 3P-FG%. Colorado State has been solid on both ends of court this season and come into this game ranked 37th in scoring offense, 3rd in FG%, & 85th in scoring defense.

UNLV has been decent defensively this season, however, it’s a bit concerning to see the Rebels give up 80 points to San Diego State in their last game, especially considering that Colorado State has a much more dangerous offense. Colorado State is a perfect 10-0 at home this season and as I think they dominate UNLV on both ends of the court, like what the Aztecs did to the Rebels earlier this week, I think Colorado State wins this one by 15+ and cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
