The Miami Hurricanes will travel to McCamish Pavilion to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Miami Hurricanes improved to 15-5 on the season after defeating the Virginia Tech Hokies, 78-75, this past Wednesday. Miami trailed by a 75-70 margin with just 2:24 left in regulation, however, the Hurricanes defense was outstanding down the stretch and the Hurricanes were able to win it in dramatic fashion after Charlie Moore hit a game-winning half-court shot as time expired. Miami shot 54.7% from the field & 61.1% from beyond the arc while allowing Virginia Tech to shoot 50.0% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Hurricanes was Kameron McGusty who had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, Miami is averaging 76.0 ppg on 47.0% shooting from the field. The Hurricanes are averaging 7.7 three-pointers per game on 36.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Miami has been led by Kameron McGusty (17.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.7 spg), Isaiah Wong (16.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.1 spg), Charlie Moore (12.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.9 apg, 2.1 spg), & Jordan Miller (8.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.5 spg).

Defensively, Miami is allowing their opponents to average 71.9 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Hurricanes have a rebound margin of -5.0 and a turnover margin of 4.7.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets won their 2nd straight game and improved to 9-10 on the season after defeating the Florida State Seminoles, 75-61, this past Wednesday. Georgia Tech did a great job defensively in forcing turnovers and pulled away late in the 2nd half for victory after taking a 71-60 lead with 2:05 left in regulation. Georgia Tech shot 44.4% from the field & 37.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Florida State to shoot 40.7% from the field & 41.2% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was Jordan Usher who had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, & 5 steals.

On the season, Georgia Tech is averaging 70.4 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Yellow Jackets are averaging 7.3 three-pointers per game on 36.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Georgia Tech has been led by Michael Devoe (19.2 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.6 spg), Jordan Usher (15.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.5 spg), Kyle Sturdivant (7.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.1 apg), & Dallan Coleman (6.7 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Georgia Tech is allowing their opponents to average 68.9 ppg on 43.2% shooting from the field. The Yellow Jackets have a rebound margin of 0.8 and a turnover margin of 0.5.

The Hurricanes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games & 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games vs. ACC opponents. The Yellow Jackets are just 4-8-1 ATS in their last 13 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games.

Miami has been led by their offense which ranks t-73rd in scoring offense, 48th in FG%, & 50th in 3P-FG%, however, the Hurricanes have struggled a bit defensively and currently come into this game ranked just 257th in scoring defense & 298th in defensive FG%. Georgia Tech has been a bit below average on both ends of the court this season and come into this game ranked 202nd in scoring offense, 180th in scoring defense, & 200th in defensive FG%.

Georgia Tech is coming off an impressive victory over Florida State, however, this is still a team that has lost 5 of their last 8 games and recently struggled against another high-scoring offense in Wake Forest, in a 16-point loss in mid-January. Miami has been solid on the road this season, posting a 4-1 road record, and as I think the Hurricanes will have no trouble putting up plenty of points in this one, I’m taking a Miami to cover this small road spread. Good Luck!
