The Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys meet Saturday in college basketball action from Gallagher-Iba Arena. Oklahoma is 13-9 on the year. The Sooners lost to TCU in their last game. As for Oklahoma State, they’re currently 10-11 and coming off a loss to Kansas State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Oklahoma put up a pretty solid 12-3 run in the first 15 games; the losses came to Utah State, Butler and Baylor. It’s been an ugly 1-6 run since then for the Sooners; those losses were to Texas, TCU, Kansas, Baylor, Auburn and TCU again.

In the rematch versus TCU on Monday, the Sooners were down by just one point at halftime. Oklahoma hit a 28-36 deficit in the second half on the way to the 72-63 loss. Tops in scoring was Jordan Goldwire on 13 points and four assists.

Over on the Oklahoma State side, they hit a 10-7 run to start the year, losing to Oakland, Wichita State, Xavier, Houston, Kansas, West Virginia and Texas Tech. The Cowboys have since lost to Texas, Iowa State, Florida and Kansas State in their last quartet.

Matched up against Kansas State on Wednesday, the Cowboys were down 32-39 at the break. Oklahoma State outscored the opposition 36-32 in the second but lost 71-68. Bryce Thompson came up with 22 points, three rebounds and two assists.

The Cowboys are 1-6 ATS in their last seven at home and 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 Saturday games. Oklahoma State is 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 overall.

Meanwhile, the Sooners are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 2-5 ATS in the last seven overall. The over is 5-2 in Oklahoma’s last seven after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Oklahoma here. The Sooners are going to need to bounce back after an ugly second half in the TCU game, though. Oklahoma ended up shooting 40.7 percent and getting out-rebounded 42-20. It’s been a rough 2-7 stretch, but generally the Sooners have stayed in range of some tough teams during that time. As for OK State, they’re on a tough run themselves but they’re still scoring pretty well over the last three games. This matchup should be a very competitive one; I like Oklahoma on the cover/win but it’s looking pretty tight.
