UNC Greensboro vs The Citadel 2/10/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Citadel Bulldogs and the UNC Greensboro Spartans meet Thursday in college basketball action from Greensboro Coliseum. The Citadel is sitting at 10-12 on the year. The Bulldogs beat Samford in their last game. As for UNC Greensboro, they’re 14-10 so far and beat Western Carolina on Monday. The Citadel found some early success this year at 6-3, but they’ve only been able to win consecutive games once since then. The Bulldogs are 2-2 over their last four games, with losses to Chattanooga and Furman between wins over Western Carolina and Samford. 

Matched up against Samford on Saturday, the Bulldogs posted 54 points in the first half and 53 more in the second for a high-flying 107-93 victory. Leading scorer Hayden Brown doubled with 35 points and 11 rebounds during the win. 

Over on the UNC Greensboro side, they started the year at 8-4 before hitting a 2-4 stretch in January. The Spartans have recovered on a 4-2 stretch since then. The wins in that time have been to Samford, ETSU, Furman and Western Carolina. 

In the Western Carolina game on Monday, the Spartans outscored the Catamounts 36-19 in the first half and cruised to an eventual 68-49 win. Leading the scoring was Kaleb Hunter with 15 points and three rebounds. 

The Spartans are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five at home and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games. The under is 18-7 in UNCG’s last 25 at home. 

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four Thursday games. The over is 4-1 in the Citadel’s last five road games.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Citadel here. The Bulldogs have been posting some pretty good points totals lately; they’ve hit 68 or more in four of the last five. The Citadel is still giving up a healthy amount of points on the other side to good teams though, so this one should be a fairly high total. 

The last time these teams met up back on January 13, the Citadel posted a 74-69 win. I like this game to be competitive as well, with the Bulldogs eking out a cover. Should be a fun one to watch.
