The Central Michigan Chippewas and the Western Michigan Broncos meet Saturday in college basketball action from University Arena. Central Michigan is sitting at 6-15 on the year so far. The Chippewas lost to Ohio in their last game. As for Western Michigan, they’re currently 4-20 and lost to Miami-OH in their most recent outing. Central Michigan went on a 2-13 run to start the year. The Chippewas were only able to play two games from December 29 to January 25 due to postponements. Central Michigan is 1-2 in their last three outings with losses to Buffalo and Ohio in that time.

On Thursday versus Ohio, the Chippewas managed a one-point lead by halftime. Central Michigan couldn’t hang on in the second and ended up with an 81-72 loss. Tops in scoring was Kevin Miller on 25 points and six assists.

Over on the Western Michigan side, they managed a 4-6 start to the year. Unfortunately, the Broncos haven’t recorded a win since way back on December 17. They’ve fallen to Central Michigan, Ohio and Miami-OH in their last trio.

On Tuesday versus Miami-OH, the Broncos held a 30-24 lead by halftime. Western Michigan couldn’t hang on and ultimately fell 62-57 for another rough outcome. Lamar Norman was the team’s top scorer with 12 points and four boards.

The Broncos are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 at home and the over is 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games. The under is 6-2 in Western Michigan’s last eight at home.

Meanwhile, the Chippewas are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five after an ATS win. The under is 5-2 in Central Michigan’s last seven overall.

PICK: I suppose I’m taking Central Michigan here. The Chippewas have been decent on offense during this 4-2 run. They’ve hit 69 or more points in four of those six games. The last time these teams met up, Central Michigan secured a 65-55 home win on February 3. Considering Western Michigan hasn’t scored more than 64 points in any of their last four outings, the Chippewas should have a clear path to a cover/win here if they’re halfway decent on the scoreboard.
