The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Georgia Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from the Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will look to snap a three-game losing streak after an 86-76 loss at the hands of Kentucky last time out. Erik Stevenson leads the Gamecocks with 11.2 PPG with 4.3 RPG and 2.5 APG while Jermaine Couisnard has 10.1 PPG with a team-high 2.6 APG. Wildens Levesque has 8 PPG with a team-high 5.3 RPG as well so far this season. James Reese V also has 10.5 PPG for South Carolina this season. As a team, South Carolina is averaging 71 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 65.1% from the foul line while allowing 69.2 PPG on 41% shooting from the field and 32.6% from three this season.

The Georgia Bulldogs will look to snap a four-game losing streak after a 72-63 loss to Florida last time out. Kario Oquendo leads Georgia in scoring with 13.8 PPG while Braelen Bridges is right behind with 12.5 PPG and Aaron Cook has 10.6 PPG with a team-high 5.9 APG to lead Georgia in assists and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Georgia this season. As a team, Georgia is averaging 70.7 PPG on 44% shooting from the field, 31.4% from three and 74.2% from the foul line while allowing 77 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field and 33.8% from three this season.

South Carolina is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home. Georgia is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 home games while the under is 17-8-1 in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the allure of a home dog in certain spots, but the thing about Georgia is that while these two teams are even offensively, it’s the Bulldogs’ defense that has them on the wrong end of scores more often than not and I think this is another one of those spots that, while laying points on the road isn’t ideal, it’s the right play as South Carolina’s defense (as average as it may be) is the difference here. Give me the Gamecocks.
