The Iowa State Cyclones will travel to Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena to take on the TCU Horned Frogs this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Iowa State Cyclones lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 16-9 on the season after being defeated by the Kansas State Wildcats, 75-69 (OT), this past Saturday. Iowa State led by a 50-37 margin early in the 2nd half, however, the Cyclones allowed Kansas to fight back to force OT and the Wildcats had no trouble pulling away for the victory after taking a 71-66 lead with 1:04 left in OT. Iowa State shot 40.9% from the field & 32.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Kansas State to 41.9% shooting from the field & 37.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Cyclones was Izaiah Brockington who had 27 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Iowa State is averaging 67.8 ppg on 43.7% shooting from the field. The Cyclones are averaging 6.7 three-pointers per game on 31.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Iowa State has been led by Izaiah Brockington (17.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.2 spg), Tyrese Hunter (10.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.9 spg), Gabe Kalscheur (9.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.4 spg), & Caleb Grill (6.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Iowa State is holding their opponents to an average of 62.3 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Cyclones have a rebound margin of 0.8 and a turnover margin of 3.2.

The TCU Horned Frogs dropped to 16-6 on the season after being defeated by the 9th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders, 82-69, this past Saturday. TCU led by a 40-37 margin at halftime, however, the Horned Frogs struggled on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and could not fight back after Texas Tech took a 68-47 lead with 9:46 left in regulation. TCU shot 46.3% from the field & 40.7% from beyond the arc while allowing Texas Tech to shoot 53.8% from the field & 55.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Horned Frogs was Damion Baugh who had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, TCU is averaging 69.1 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs are averaging 5.9 three-pointers per game on 29.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, TCU has been led by Mike Miles (15.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.2 spg), Damion Baugh (10.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.4 spg), Chuk O’Bannon Jr. (10.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.1 apg), & Emanuel Miller (10.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.0 apg).

The Cyclones are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Tuesday games & 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Horned Frogs are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss & 11-4-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall.

Iowa Sate has been solid defensively this season, however, the offense has really struggled as the Cyclones come into this game ranked just 265th in scoring offense and is averaging just 58.5 ppg during their 4-game losing streak. TCU is 9-3 at home this season and as I think their defense, which ranks 32nd in scoring defense & 60th in defensive FG%, is going to continue to give the Iowa State offense trouble, I’m taking TCU to cover this small home spread. Good Luck!
