The 4th ranked Kentucky Wildcats will travel to Thompson-Boling Arena to take on the 16th ranked Tennessee Volunteers this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The 4th ranked Kentucky Wildcats won their 6th straight game and improved to 21-4 on the season after defeating the Florida Gators, 78-57, this past Saturday. Kentucky was outstanding on the defensive end against Florida and had no trouble pulling away for the victory after taking a 63-49 lead with 7:35 left in regulation. Kentucky shot 46.3% from the field & 37.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Florida to shoot 45.1% from the field & 22.7% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Oscar Tshiebwe who had a double-double with 27 points, 19 rebounds, 2 assists, & 3 steals.

On the season, Kentucky is averaging 81.3 ppg on 49.1% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 6.6 three-pointers per game on 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Kentucky has been led by Oscar Tshiebwe (16.4 ppg, 15.3 rpg, 1.1 apg, 2.0 spg, 1.4 bpg), TyTy Washington Jr. (12.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Kellan Grady (12.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.0 apg), Keion Brooks Jr. (11.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.0 apg), & Sahvir Wheeler (9.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 7.2 apg, 1.3 spg).

Defensively, Kentucky is holding their opponents to an average of 64.2 ppg on 40.3% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 10.9 and a turnover margin of 1.0.

The 16th ranked Tennessee Volunteers won their 4th straight game and improved to 18-6 on the season after defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores, 73-64, this past Saturday. Tennessee allowed Vanderbilt to fight back into the game after holding a 47-32 lead early in the 2nd half, however, the Volunteers were strong defensively down the stretch and was able to pull away after taking a 69-59 lead with 3:02 left in regulation. Tennessee shot 36.7% from the field & 31.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Vanderbilt to shoot 40.8% from the field & 37.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Volunteers was Zakai Zeigler who had 16 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, & 2 steals.

On the season, Tennessee is averaging 74.4 ppg on 43.6% shooting from the field. The Volunteers are averaging 9.0 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Tennessee has been led by Santiago Vescovi (13.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.8 spg), Kennedy Chandler (13.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 4.8 apg, 2.3 spg), Josiah-Jordan James (8.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.6 spg, 1.1 bpg), & Olivier Nkamhoua (8.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.1 bpg).

Defensively, Tennessee is holding their opponents to an average of 63.1 ppg on 41.7% shooting from the field. The Volunteers have a rebound margin of 3.2 and a turnover margin of 4.7.

The Wildcats are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record & 1-11 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games. The Volunteers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS loss & 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Tennessee is a perfect 13-0 at home this season, however, this is a team that can struggle that can sometimes struggle to make shots as the Volunteers currently rank just 206th in FG% & 147th in 3P-FG%. Kentucky has been lights out as of late, which includes double-digit victories at Alabama & Kansas, and as I think that Oscar Tshiebwe and the Kentucky offense will be able to find success in this matchup, I’m taking the Wildcats and the points. Good Luck!
