The Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Georgia is sitting at 6-19 on the year. The Bulldogs lost to South Carolina in their last game. As for LSU, they’re 18-7 and fresh off a win over Mississippi State. Georgia stumbled to a spotty 5-6 record over their first 11 games this year. The Bulldogs then hit an eight-game losing streak before a win over Alabama. Since then it’s been losses to Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida and South Carolina.

Matched up against South Carolina on Saturday, the Bulldogs were outscored 38-42 in the first half and 30-38 in the second during an 80-68 loss. Kario Oquendo led the team on 18 points, and Braelen Bridges added 16 points with five boards.

Over on the LSU side, they lost just one of their first 16 games (to Auburn) this year. The Tigers have been on a rough 3-6 stretch since then, though. The good news is that LSU has wins in their last pair over Texas A&M and Mississippi State.

In the Mississippi State game, the Tigers jumped out to a 37-22 halftime lead. LSU was outscored 32-43 from there but still hung on for the 69-65 win. Tari Eason led the way on 23 points, and Xavier Pinson added 12 points with three steals.

The Tigers are 5-2 ATS in the last seven Wednesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. LSU is 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS loss. The over is 18-7-1 in LSU’s last 26 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stay with LSU here. The Tigers have had to play some tricky teams over their last nine outings, and their record has suffered because of it. That said, LSU is still scoring pretty well with 67 or more points in six of their last eight outings.

As for Georgia, they’ve hit 68 or more in five of their last six but have won just one of those games. I like LSU to post a high total here on the way to a cover.
