The Ole Miss Rebels will travel to Stegeman Coliseum to take on the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Ole Miss Rebels lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 12-14 on the season after being defeated by the South Carolina Gamecocks, 77-74 (OT), this past Tuesday. Ole Miss allowed South Carolina to fight back from a 63-57 deficit with 4:24 left in regulation to force OT and the Gamecocks were able to pull off a dramatic victory after James Reese V hit a game winning half-court shot as time expired in OT. Ole Miss shot 41.9% from the field & 29.2% from beyond the arc while allowing South Carolina to shoot 46.9% from the field & 30.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Rebels was Matthew Murrell who had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Ole Miss is averaging 68.2 ppg on 43.2% shooting from the field. The Rebels are averaging 7.1 three-pointers per game on 32.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Ole Miss has been led by Jarkel Joiner (14.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.1 spg), Daeshun Ruffin (12.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.3 spg), Matthew Murrell (11.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.7 apg), & Nysier Brooks (9.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.2 bpg). Daeshun Ruffin suffered a knee injury against LSU early in the February and is out for the remainder of the season.

Defensively, Ole Miss is allowing their opponents to an average of 67.6 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Rebels have a rebound margin of 0.1 and a turnover margin of 0.7.

The Georgia Bulldogs lost their 6th straight game and dropped to 6-20 on the season after being defeated by the LSU Tigers, 84-65, this past Wednesday. Georgia struggled offensively in the 1st half and could not fight back after the Tigers went into halftime trailing by a 38-22 margin. Georgia shot 44.4% from the field & 34.8% from beyond the arc while allowing LSU to shoot 49.3% from the field & 30.4% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Kario Oquendo who had 26 points, 5 rebounds, & 1 block.

On the season, Georgia is averaging 70.3 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are averaging 6.4 three-pointers per game on 31.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Georgia has been led by Kario Oquendo (14.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.2 spg), Braelen Bridges (12.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.7 apg), Aaron Cook (10.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 5.7 apg, 1.3 spg), & Noah Baumann (8.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg).

Defensively, Georgia is allowing their opponents to average 77.4 ppg on 46.6% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of -1.2 and a turnover margin of -3.5.

The Rebels are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing road record & 11-15 ATS overall on the season. The Bulldogs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Saturday home games & just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Ole Miss is the better team, however, they have lost 10 of their last 12 games and this is a team that has struggled to score the basketball this season as the Rebels come into this game ranked just 257th in scoring offense, 225th in FG%, & 241st in 3P-FG%. Georgia has had a tough season as they have struggled defensively, however, this is a team that has picked up all 6 wins at home this season, including an 82-76 win against Alabama, and as I think the Bulldogs will be able to keep this game competitive, I’m taking Georgia and the points. Good Luck!
