The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Ohio State Buckeyes meet Saturday in college basketball action from Value City Arena. Iowa is coming off a Thursday matchup versus Michigan. In that one, the Hawkeyes lost by five points. As for Ohio State, they’re sitting at 16-6 on the year and coming off a win over Minnesota. Iowa hit a three-game losing streak back in December but otherwise they’ve only lost consecutive games once this year. The Hawkeyes managed a three-game win streak over Minnesota, Maryland and Nebraska to kick off the month of February.

On Thursday versus Michigan, the Hawkeyes had a two-point lead going into the break but couldn’t hold on in an 84-79 loss. Keegan Murray led the team on his 23 points and seven rebounds. Patrick McCaffery added 13 points as well.

Over on the Ohio State side, they’ve been quite consistent themselves and have yet to lose two games in a row. Since their last loss February 9 to Rutgers, the Buckeyes have rebounded with wins over Michigan and Minnesota.

Matched up against Minnesota back on Tuesday, the Buckeyes were down by two points heading into halftime. Ohio State hit a 47-20 run in the second half for a nice 70-45 comeback win. EJ Liddell led the team with a double on 16 points and 10 boards.

The Buckeyes are 5-1 ATS in their last six at home and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. Ohio State is 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall.

Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes are 1-4 ATS in their last five versus a team with a winning straight-up record and the over is 4-1 in their last five road games. The over is 20-6-1 in Iowa’s last 27 overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Ohio State. The Buckeyes got into a bit of early trouble versus Minnesota their last time out, but to the team’s credit they were able to pull through for their third win in four games. Ohio State has scored well lately, with 68 or more points in six of their last seven.

Iowa has been a pretty reliable scoring team themselves so far this year, so this should be a very interesting matchup. Ultimately I like Ohio State a little better on the cover, but you could probably make a great case either way. Should be a good one.
