The Central Michigan Chippewas and the Toledo Rockets meet Saturday in college basketball action from Savage Arena. Central Michigan is sitting at 6-17 on the year and coming off a loss to Eastern Michigan. As for Toledo, they’re currently 20-6 this season. The Rockets lost to Kent State in their last game. Central Michigan kicked off the year on an ugly 2-13 run with wins over only Eastern Illinois and Kent State. The Chippewas are 4-4 since then. They’ve lost to Buffalo, Ohio, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan in that time.

In the Tuesday game versus Eastern Michigan, the Chippewas were outscored 30-43 in the first half. Central Michigan got better from there but still lost 75-70. Tops in scoring was Kevin Miller with 23 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Over on the Toledo side, they hit a 9-4 run out of the gate this year. The Rockets would then win nine straight from January 4 through February 1. The last four games have been a 2-2 run with losses to Ball State and Kent State, however.

Matched up against Kent State on Tuesday, the Rockets were down 20-36 by halftime. Toledo managed 39 points in the second but still lost 72-59 in a rough outing. RayJ Dennis was the top team scorer with 21 points and five boards.

Toledo is 7-1 ATS in their last eight at home and 38-16-1 ATS in their last 55 overall. The Rockets are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Chippewas are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 Saturday games and the over is 6-1 in their last seven road games. The over is 5-2 in Central Michigan’s last seven after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Toledo here. The Rockets played perhaps their worst game of the year in their last outing and lost to a Kent State team they frankly should have beaten without much issue. Still, Toledo has been scoring very well otherwise during this 11-2 run. They’ve hit 75 or more points in 12 of those 13 games.

The Rockets managed an 82-54 road victory the last time these teams met back on January 4. This one might not be such a blowout but Toledo should have full control.
