The Maryland Terrapins and the Indiana Hoosiers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Bloomington Assembly Hall. Maryland is sitting at 13-14 on the year and coming off a win over Penn State. As for Indiana, they’re currently 16-10 on the season. The Hoosiers lost to Ohio State in their last game. Maryland was 8-4 on the year by the time the Big Ten games rolled around, and they’ve had mixed results since then. The Terrapins came out of January into a five-game losing streak, but they’ve won their last two games over Nebraska and Penn State.

In the Penn State matchup, the Terrapins took a 28-28 tie into halftime. Maryland outscored the Nittany Lions 39-33 from there in a 67-61 victory. Tops in scoring was Fatts Russell with 18 points, five rebounds and a pair of steals.

Over on the Indiana side, they hit Big Ten play with a 10-2 record. The Hoosiers were 16-5 as recently as January 29, but they’ve since been on a five-game win streak over Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Ohio State.

Matched up against Ohio State on Monday, the Hoosiers posted a 35-30 advantage in the second half to force overtime. Indiana couldn’t hold on in an 80-69 loss, though. Xavier Johnson led the team on 16 points and four assists.

The Hoosiers are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 at home and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 4-1 in Indiana’s last five after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Terrapins are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS win and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Thursday games. The over is 7-2-1 in Maryland’s last 10 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Indiana. The Hoosiers have played four ranked teams over this five-game losing streak, and though the results haven’t been good they’ve been competitive for the most part. These teams last met up back on January 29 in a 68-55 road win for Indiana—their most recent victory. Indiana isn’t a terribly consistent scoring team this year, but if they can get off to a fast start and finish in the neighborhood of 70 points again I think they’ll be fine on a cover. Should be a fun game to watch and a competitive matchup all around.
