The Central Michigan Chippewas and the Miami OH Redhawks meet Thursday in college basketball action from Millett Hall. The Chippewas are coming off a Tuesday matchup versus Ohio. In that one, Central Michigan lost in a blowout. As for Miami OH, they played Buffalo in their Tuesday outing. The Redhawks ended up losing by two points. Central Michigan started out on a rough 2-13 run this year and were only able to play one game from January 4 to January 25. The Chippewas hit a losing streak in February to Ohio, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Toledo.

On Tuesday versus Ohio, the Chippewas were down by 11 points by the break. Central Michigan hit a 28-43 deficit from there in a 76-50 loss. Ralph Bissainthe led the team with his 12 points and nine rebounds.

Over on the Miami OH side, they were sitting at 9-13 on the season after a five-game losing streak earlier this month. The Redhawks bounced back with a 3-1 run, taking out Western Michigan, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois along the way.

In the Tuesday matchup versus Buffalo, the Redhawks were down 40-45 by halftime. Miami OH hit a 44-41 run in the second but couldn’t come back in an 86-84 loss. Both Dae Dae Grant and Mekhi Lairy scored 22 points apiece with a combined nine boards.

The Redhawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games and 4-17 ATS in their last 21 overall. The over is 4-0 in Miami OH’s last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Chippewas are 5-2 ATS in the last seven after an ATS loss and the under is 8-3 in their last 11 overall. The under is 5-1 in the Chippewas’ last six Thursday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Miami OH. The Redhawks offense has been doing pretty well lately despite their recent 2-2 run. Miami OH has scored 78 or more points in each of their last four games. As for Central Michigan, they’ve been at 66 or below in three of the last four outings amid this 1-5 stretch. Miami OH should be plenty comfortable here and I like them to power out the cover here.
