The Furman Paladins and the Citadel Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from the McAlister Field House on Saturday afternoon.

The Furman Paladins will try to rebound from an 83-75 defeat at the hands of Samford in their last game. Mike Bothwell leads the Paladins in scoring with 15.4 PPG along with 4.2 RPG and 3.1 APG while Jalen Slawson also has 14.3 PPG has team-highs of 7.7 RPG and 3.8 APG. Alex Hunter has 13.4 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Furman up to this point in the season. Conley Garrison has 9.7 PPG with 4.3 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Furman is averaging 77.7 PPG on 46% shooting from the field, 38.3% from three and 75.1% from the foul line while allowing 69.3 PPG on 45.2% from the field and 33.7% from three this season.

The Citadel Bulldogs will attempt to build on a 71-67 win over Mercer on the road last time out. Hayden Brown leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding with 18.6 PPG and 9.1 RPG while Jason Roche has 13.6 PPG with 1 RPG and Stephen Clark has 10 PPG and 6.1 RPG this season. Rudy Fitzgibbons III has 8.9 PPG and Tyler Moffe has 10 PPG with a team-high 4 APG to lead the Citadel in assists this year and to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Citadel this season. As a team, the Citadel is averaging 77.6 PPG on 44.8% shooting from the field, 35.8% from three and 67.1% from the foul line while allowing 76.5 PPG on 42.6% shooting from the field and 32.4% from three this season.

Furman is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 2-9-2 ATS in their last 13 games following an ATS loss while the over is 7-2 in their last 9 games against a team with a losing record. The Citadel is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a win while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

I get the case to be made either way here, but I think the better play is actually the over. The Citadel has had a tendency to not play a lick of defense and Furman is one of the higher-scoring teams in the SoCon and I think we could see a game where both teams get to the high-70s and maybe even low-80s. Either way, I look for the over to hit here.
