UC San Diego vs CSU-Fullerton 2/26/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the UC San Diego Tritons meet Saturday in college basketball action from RIMAC. CSU Fullerton is fresh off a Thursday game versus UC Irvine. In that game, the Titans eked out a two-point win. As for UC San Diego, they played Long Beach State in their Thursday matchup. The Tritons ended up falling by 16 points. CSU Fullerton went a sketchy 4-5 over their first nine games this year, but quickly found their rhythm and became a consistent team. The Titans started out February on a 4-2 run, taking out Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, UC Santa Barbara and CSU Northridge along the way. 

In the Thursday game versus UC Irvine, the Titans were down 25-30 by halftime. CSU Fullerton hit a 41-34 run in the second for a 66-64 comeback win. Damari Milstead was tops on the team with 17 points and three assists. 

Over on the UC San Diego side, they were sitting at 8-5 back on January 1, then lost seven of their next nine games. After a win over UC Riverside, the Tritons fell again to UC Irvine and Hawaii in their next pair. 

Matched up against Long Beach State on Thursday, the Tritons kept a good pace in the first half and were up 57-55 by the break. UCSD was outscored 48-30 in the second for a 103-87 loss. Jake Kosakowski put up 26 points with three rebounds in the defeat. 

CSU Fullerton is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 overall. The under is 4-1 in the Titans’ last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Tritons are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 10-4 in UCSD’s last 14 at home. 

PICK: I’m going to try UC San Diego here. The Tritons stood tall against a decent Long Beach State team in their last outing, but ultimately couldn’t keep up the pace. UCSD can score well when the matchup is right; they’ve hit 85 or more points in four of the last seven games. 

The last time these teams met up, CSU Fullerton took a tight 83-80 win at home. I like UC San Diego to play well in this one and get a little revenge on a cover.
