The Miami-Ohio Redhawks and the Central Michigan Chippewas meet in college basketball MAC-tion from the McGuirk Arena on Tuesday night.

The Miami-Ohio Redhawks will look to snap a three-game losing streak after an 88-73 loss to Toledo last time out. Dae Dae Grant leads the RedHawks in scoring with 17.5 PPG and 4 APG while Mekhi Lairy has 14.1 PPG with 3.4 APG and Precious Ayan has 9 PPG with 5.7 RPG. Dalonte Brown has 11.8 PPG with 6.4 RPG to lead the RedHawks on the glass and to finish off the offense in double figures for Miami-Ohio this season. As a team, Miami-Ohio is averaging 75.2 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 35% from three and 78.9% from the foul line while allowing 73.9 PPG on 44.8% shooting from the field and 36% from three this season.

The Central Michigan Chippewas will look to rebound from a 73-71 loss to Kent State last time out. Jermaine Jackson Jr. has 11.4 PPG and 2.7 APG while Kevin Miller has a team-high 13 PPG with a team-high 4.5 APG and Cameron Healy has 11.8 PPG. Harrison Henderson and Oscar Lopez Jr. each have 10+ PPG with 4+ RPG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for CMU so far this season. Ralph Bissainthe also has 9.9 PPG with a team-high 6.5 RPG to lead the Chippewas on the glass as well this season. As a team, Central Michigan is averaging 66.3 PPG on 41% shooting from the field, 35.6% from three and 68.3% from the foul line while allowing 78 PPG on 45.9% shooting from the field and 35.2% from three this season.

Miami-Ohio is 1-11 ATS in their last 12 road games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 road games against a team with a home winning percentage below .400 while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall. Central Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a losing road record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400 while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 Tuesday games.

I get the case to be made for the Redhawks as they’re still the better team here. However, Miami-Ohio can’t cover a spread on the road if their lives depended on it and whether it’s by one point or 30, it doesn’t matter, a cover is a cover and vice versa. Central Michigan’s had their moments here and their and with this being Senior night, I’ve gotta take the chance on the Chips to pull off the sweep of Miami-Ohio here.
