The George Mason Patriots and the Davidson Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Belk Arena. George Mason is 14-13 on the year so far. The Patriots beat George Washington in their last game. As for Davidson, they’re currently 24-4 and coming off a victory versus Fordham. George Mason was sitting at 11-7 on the year back on January 30, but the team didn’t play all that well in February. The Patriots are just 3-6 in the last nine games and 1-2 in the last three. They lost to Fordham and VCU before getting the win over George Washington.

On Sunday versus George Washington, the Patriots were down 28-33 by halftime. George Mason hit a 41-29 run in the second for a comeback win 69-62. Josh Oduro doubled up to lead the team on 27 points and 14 boards.

Over on the Wildcats’ side, they started the year at 1-2 but haven’t lost consecutive games since then. Davidson is currently riding a four-game win streak, taking out Duquesne, Saint Louis, Duquesne again and Fordham in that time.

In the Saturday matchup versus Fordham, Davidson held a five-point lead going into the second half. The Wildcats hit a 38-22 run from there in a 66-45 blowout win. Sam Mennenga was tops on the team with 17 points and nine rebounds.

The Wildcats are 2-6 ATS in their last eight at home and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 after an ATS win. Davidson is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall and 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven Wednesday games. The over is 15-7 in George Mason’s last 22 overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Davidson here. The Wildcats are a nice 8-1 in their last nine games, the lone blemish being a 72-65 road loss to Rhode Island. Davidson’s offense is working well; they’ve hit 68 or more points in eight of their last 11 outings. As for George Mason, they haven’t been able to pass 69 points in any of the last three, and their performances have been quite choppy. If Davidson is on their game, the cover should be in their hands.
