The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Ohio State Buckeyes meet in college basketball action from the Value City Arena on Tuesday night.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will look to build on a 93-70 win over Penn State last time out. Bryce McGowens leads the Cornhuskers in scoring with 16.9 PPG along with 5.3 RPG while Alonzo Verge Jr. has 13.9 PPG with 4.4 RPG and a team-high 5.1 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for the Huskers so far this season while leading Nebraska in assists. Derrick Walker has 9.2 PPG with a team-high 6 RPG to lead the Cornhuskers on the glass. As a team, Nebraska is averaging 73.2 PPG on 44% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three and 72.3% from the foul line while allowing 79.3 PPG on 45% shooting from the field and 35.3% from three this season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes will look to bounce back from a 75-60 loss to Maryland in their last game. E.J. Liddell leads the Buckeyes in scoring and rebounding with 19.3 PPG and 7.5 RPG while Malaki Branham has 12.6 PPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for Ohio State so far this season. Jamari Wheeler has a team-high 3.2 APG and Zed Key has 8.3 PPG and 5.4 RPG while Kyle Young has 8.5 PPG with 5 RPG as well this season for the Buckeyes. As a team, Ohio State is averaging 74.1 PPG on 47.5% shooting from the field, 37.2% from three and 75.5% from the foul line while allowing 67.7 PPG on 41.4% shooting from the field and 33.1% from three this season.

Nebraska is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a win by 20 or more points while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a win. Ohio State is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 games following an ATS loss.

I get the case to be made either way here, but I’m leaning towards Nebraska and the points. Ohio State didn’t show up in the loss to Maryland when they needed to, as the Buckeyes would fall behind, rally to catch up and never push themselves in front. Nebraska’s not going to do that here, but this is just too many points to give to a Nebraska team that’s hung around in spots with an Ohio State team that frankly doesn’t deserve to be laying this number. Give me the Huskers and the points here.
