The Old Dominion Monarchs and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from the Thomas Assembly Center on Wednesday night.

The Old Dominion Monarchs will look to build on back-to-back wins after an 83-63 win over FIU last time out. C.J. Keyser has 14.1 PPG while Kalu Ezikpe has 11.4 PPG with 7.2 RPG this season. Austin Trice has 13.1 PPG with a team-high 8.9 RPG to cap off Middle Tennessee’s group of double-digit scorers and Jaylin Hunter has 9.7 PPG with a team-high 4.3 APG to lead the Monarchs in assists this season. As a team, Old Dominion is averaging 66.9 PPG on 43.8% shooting from the field, 30.4% from three and 67.1% from the foul line while allowing 66.9 PPG on 41.6% shooting from the field and 33.7% from three this season.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will look to bounce back from a 56-49 loss to North Texas last time out. Kenneth Lofton Jr. leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding with 16.6 PPG and 10.6 RPG, averaging a double-double per game while Amorie Archibald has 13 PPG and 3.6 RPG this season. Keaston Willis has 12 PPG with 3.4 RPG and Cobe Williams has 11.1 PPG and a team-high 3.3 APG as well on the year for the Bulldogs, leading the team in assists and also capping off the group of double-digit scorers for LA Tech so far this season. As a team, LA Tech is averaging 77.4 PPG on 46.1% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 72.1% from the foul line while allowing 68.9 PPG on 41.5% shooting from the field and 33.9% from three this season.

Old Dominion is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 road games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. Louisiana Tech is 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record and 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 home games against a team with a losing road record while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games following a loss.

I get the case to be made for both sides here, but I’m leaning towards Louisiana Tech here. The Bulldogs are a solid team to begin with but to have a game-changer like Lofton Jr. on the team just makes the difference for LA Tech here, as I don’t think ODU will have an answer. On top of that, the Monarchs are a team that has offensive droughts a lot and I think this is a spot where LA Tech just pulls away over the course of the game as I don’t think the Monarchs keep up. Give me the Bulldogs laying the points here.
