The NC State Wolfpack and the Clemson Tigers meet Tuesday in ACC Tournament college basketball action from Barclays Center. Clemson is currently 16-15 this year. The Tigers beat Virginia Tech in their last game. As for NC State, they’re 11-20 and coming off a loss to Florida State. Clemson got off to a pretty solid 9-4 start this year. The Tigers would only win three of their next 14 games, though. Since then, Clemson has been on a four-game win streak over Wake Forest, Boston College, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

In the Virginia Tech game, the Tigers trailed by three at the break. Clemson hit a 33-26 run in the second half on the way to a 63-59 comeback victory. Tops in scoring was PJ Hall on 12 points and four rebounds.

Over on the Wolfpack side, they started out at 7-2 this year, then hit an ugly run themselves. NC State has won just four games since December 9. The Wolfpack have fallen in their last four outings to Boston College, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Florida State.

On Saturday versus Florida State, the Wolfpack faced a 35-46 halftime deficit. NC State didn’t get any closer from there after a 41-43 second half in an 89-76 loss. Terquavion Smith led the team’s scoring on 30 points with three rebounds.

The Tigers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 neutral-site games and the over is 20-8 in their last 28 Tuesday games. The under is 4-1 in Clemson’s last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Wolfpack are 1-4 ATS in their last five neutral-site games and 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 Tuesday games. NC State is 15-36-2 ATS in the last 53 overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Clemson. The Tigers have certainly had some rough games during these difficult ACC outings lately, but they’ve done well over the last quartet. Clemson has hit 68 or more points in three of their last four, and they beat NC State 70-65 the last time these teams met up back on January 8.

As for the Wolfpack, they’ve been scoring well over the last three (74 or more in each), so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a fairly high total here. Should be a fun matchup, but I like Clemson a little better on the cover.
