The Missouri Tigers and the LSU Tigers meet in college basketball action from the Amalie Arena on Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri Tigers come into the conference tournament as the #12 seed, finishing the year at 12-20 overall including a 5-13 record in SEC conference play. Kobe Brown leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding with 12.6 PPG and 7.8 RPG while Javon Pickett has 11.1 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Missouri so far this season. Amari Davis also has 9.2 PPG and Jarron Coleman’s got 8.9 PPG and a team-high 2.9 APG as well for Missouri this season. As a team, Missouri is averaging 65.2 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field, 27.8% from three and 73.4% from the foul line while allowing 70.6 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field and 35.7% from three this season.

The LSU Tigers will look to finish strong as the #5 seed in the SEC tournament, ending the year at 21-10 overall including 9-9 in conference play this season. Tari Eason leads the Tigers in scoring with 16.9 PPG along with 6.9 RPG while Darius Days has 13.6 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead LSU on the glass and Xavier Pinson’s got 10.3 PPG and a team-high 4.7 APG to lead LSU in assists. Brandon Murray has 10.1 PPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for LSU and Eric Gaines has 9.2 PPG with 3 APG as well this season. As a team, LSU is averaging 73.2 PPG on 43.9% shooting from the field, 32.3% from three and 72.2% from the foul line while allowing 62.9 PPG on 38.4% shooting from the field and 27.7% from three this season.

Missouri is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. LSU is 17-8 ATS in their last 25 games following a win and 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400.

I get the case to be made either way here, but I’m honestly looking at the over. LSU is a solid offensive unit that should be able to run up and down on Missouri, but LSU’s also taken a step back defensively despite Xavier Pinson getting back in the lineup in recent games. I think this is one where one of, if not both teams, end up in the 70s here, so give me the over in this one.
