The Stanford Cardinal and the Arizona State Sun Devils meet in college basketball action from the T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday afternoon.

The Stanford Cardinal come into the conference tournament as the #9 conference record, posting a 15-15 record overall including a 8-12 conference mark. Spencer Jones leads the Cardinal in scoring with 11 PPG along with 4.3 RPG while Jaiden Delaire has 10.5 PPG with 4.1 RPG and Harrison Ingram has 10.5 PPG with a team-high 6.6 RPG to lead Stanford on the glass this season. Michael O’Connell also has a team-high 3.4 APG to lead Stanford in assists as well this season. As a team, Stanford is averaging 65.8 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field, 33.4% from three and 65.4% from the foul line while allowing 68.1 PPG on 45% shooting from the field and 31.8% from three this season.

The Arizona State Sun Devils will enter the Pac-12 tournament as the #8 seed after a 14-16 overall record including a 10-10 record in conference play. DJ Horne leads the Sun Devils in scoring with 12.2 PPG while Kimani Lawrence has 10.2 PPG with a team-high 6.4 RPG to lead the Sun Devils on the glass and Jay Heath has 10.5 PPG. Marreon Jackson currently leads Arizona State in assists with 4 APG this season as well as logging 10.3 PPG and Jalen Graham has 10.1 PPG to make up the scoring in double figures for Arizona State so far this season. As a team, Arizona State is averaging 65.2 PPG on 41.3% shooting from the field, 28.7% from three and 66.5% from the foul line while allowing 67.1 PPG on 39.9% shooting from the field and 31.1% from three this season.

Stanford is 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games as an underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Arizona State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 Wednesday games while the under is 10-1 in their last 11 games as a favorite.

I get the case to be made either way in these early round tournament games, but the reality here is that these are two teams headed in completely different directions entering the conference tournament and while Arizona State hasn’t been the easiest team to back, they’ve turned it on down the stretch while Stanford’s fallen apart. Given the low and reasonable line, give me the Sun Devils laying the points.
