Howard went 2-2 over their first four games this year, losing to Kentucky and George Washington with wins over DC and Gallaudet. The Bison hit a 1-3 stretch in their next four, falling to James Madison, Wyoming and Belmont.

In Monday’s matchup versus Belmont, Howard trailed 47-34 by halftime. The Bison fell further behind from there in a 96-73 defeat. Both Elijah Hawkins and Marcus Dockery led the team on 15 points and a combined four rebounds.

Over on the Austin Peay side, they took consecutive losses to open up the season versus NC State and Purdue before taking out Milligan and South Florida in the net two. The Governors managed a 74-59 win over Albany in their Monday game.

On Tuesday versus Bucknell, Austin Peay had a 33-29 lead going into the second half. The Governors were outscored 50-32 from there in a 79-65 defeat. Cameron Copeland put up 15 points, and Sean Durugordon doubled on 11 points and 10 rebounds.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Howard. Probably not going near this one, though. Neither team has been all that inspiring so far. That said, the Bison haven’t been scoring too badly this year. They’ve hit 69 or more points in six of their last seven outings. As for Austin Peay, they’ve been at 65 points or below in four of their six games. This should be a fairly comparable matchup and a competitive game overall, though.
