The Oklahoma Sooners & 3rd ranked Baylor Bears will square off at the T-Mobile Center this Thursday night in the Quarterfinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

The Oklahoma Sooners finished their regular season with an overall record of 17-14 and earned the 7-seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship after finishing conference play with a 7-11 conference record. Oklahoma finished their non-conference portion of their schedule with a 10-3 record with their best wins coming against Florida & Arkansas. Oklahoma lost 7 of 8 games at one point during conference play however, the Sooners did pick up a win against Texas Tech and come into the conference tournament with some momentum as they are riding a 3-game winning streak.

On the season, Oklahoma is averaging 68.8 ppg on 47.7% shooting from the field. The Sooners are averaging 7.3 three-pointers per game on 33.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Oklahoma has been led by Tanner Groves (12.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.8 apg), Umoja Gibson (12.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.4 spg), Jordan Goldwire (10.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.6 spg), & Jalen Hill (8.9 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Oklahoma is holding their opponents to an average of 64.9 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Sooners have a rebound margin of 0.7 and a turnover margin of -0.7.

The Baylor Bears finished their regular season with an overall record of 26-5 and earned the 2-seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship after finishing conference play with a 14-4 conference record. Baylor finished their non-conference portion of their schedule with a 12-1 record with their best wins coming against Villanova, Oregon, Michigan State & VCU. Baylor struggled a bit at the beginning of conference play with back-to-back losses at home to Texas Tech & Oklahoma State, however, the Bears have been solid as of late, winning their last 5 games which included wins over Kansas & Texas.

On the season, Baylor is averaging 76.8 ppg on 46.6% shooting from the field. The Bears are averaging 8.1 three-pointers per game on 35.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Baylor has been led by Adam Flagler (13.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.2 spg), James Akinjo (13.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 5.8 apg, 2.0 spg), Kendall Brown (10.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.0 spg), & Matthew Mayer (10.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Baylor is holding their opponents to an average of 63.4 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Bears have a rebound margin of 5.3 and a turnover margin of 3.0.

The Sooners are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS win & just 1-9 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games. The Bears are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 neutral site games, however, are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games.

Baylor defeated Oklahoma in both of their matchups in the regular season as the Bears defeated Oklahoma by 84-74 margin at home in early January and by a 65-51 margin on the road in late January.

Oklahoma has been led by their defense this season, which ranks 50th in scoring defense & 72nd in steals per game, however, the Sooners had trouble putting up points on the scoreboard as they come into this matchup ranked just 233rd in scoring offense.  Baylor was solid on both ends of the court this season and currently rank 47th in scoring offense, 46th in FG%, 30th in scoring defense, & 35th in rebound margin. Oklahoma had trouble generating offense in both matchups against Baylor this season and between the fact that I think those struggles continue for the Sooners in this one and that Baylor has looked great recent in big wins against Kansas & Texas, I think the Bears do enough to win this one by 10+ and cover this spread. Good Luck!
