Belmont vs Middle Tennessee 12/10/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the Belmont Bruins meet Saturday in college basketball action from Curb Event Center. Middle Tennessee is 6-3 overall this year. The Blue Raiders beat Maryville (TN) in their last game. As for Belmont, they’re 6-4 on the season and coming off a win over Trevecca Nazarene. Middle Tennessee went a sketchy 2-2 over their first four games, losing to Winthrop and Missouri State. The Raiders beat Hofstra, Stephen F. Austin and Montana State before another loss to St. Bonaventure. 

Middle Tennessee got back into the win column last weekend versus Maryville (TN). The Raiders took a 41-25 advantage into the break and ended up with a 69 46 win. Camryn Weston led the way on 12 points and eight boards. 

Over on the Belmont side, they took three losses to Furman, Lipscomb and Tarleton State in their first four games. The Bruins then beat George Mason, Howard, Georgia State and Valparaiso before a loss to Illinois State. 

On Tuesday versus Trevecca Nazarene, the Bruins had a 20-point lead going into the second half. Belmont scored another 37 points in an 83-53 win. Ben Sheppard led the team on 16 points and four assists. 

PICK: I might take a stab on Belmont here. The Bruins are coming off a pretty easy game against Trevecca Nazarene that got them back above .500 again. Belmont has looked solid during this current 5-1 run, scoring 68 or more points in each of their last five games. As for Middle Tennessee, they’re doing pretty well this season outside of a few blemishes. The Raiders have been below 70 points in four of their last six games however, so if Belmont is on point I think the Bruins can keep a cover pace.
