The Cornell Big Red and Boston College Eagles meet Monday in college basketball action at the Silvio O. Conte Forum. The Cornell Big Red are coming off a 15-win season. The Boston College Eagles are coming off a 13-win season.
The Cornell Big Red have won 15 or fewer games in each of their last 11 seasons. Chris Manon returns after averaging 9.9 points and 3.7 rebounds, while Keller Boothby averaged 8.3 points and 3.7 rebounds. Nazir Williams averaged 1.6 assists and Greg Dolan averaged 3.1 rebounds. The Cornell Big Red return just one of their top-four scorers from last season, so there’s certainly going to be some growing pains early. Cornell is a young team for the most part, and the Ivy League is as competitive as ever. With that said, Manon has untapped potential, as he put up numbers while averaging just 18 minutes per game. A larger role, and Manon could be one of the better players in this conference.

The Boston College Eagles return 4 of their top-5 scorers from last season, and that doesn’t include T.J. Bickerstaff who played over 600 minutes last season. Boston College is loaded with experience and has a good recruiting class in Prince Aligbe, Donald Hand Jr. and Chas Kelley. It’s been middle of the road for Boston College, but it should be a good, fun season in Chestnut Hill.
