The Stonehill Skyhawks and the Bradley Braves meet in college basketball action from the Carver Arena on Monday night.

The Stonehill Skyhawks will be out to bounce back from back-to-back losses after a 63-56 loss to Boston College last time out. Andrew Sims leads the Skyhawks in scoring and rebounding with 17.2 PPG and 4.5 RPG while Max Zegarowski has 12.8 PPG with 3.8 RPG and Isaiah Burnett has 11.8 PPG with 4.3 RPG and a team-high 3 APG to lead the Skyhawks in assists and to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Stonehill so far this season. As a team, Stonehill is averaging 71.8 PPG on 45.4% from the field, 37.7% from three and 78.9% from the foul line this season.

The Bradley Braves will try to bounce back from a 76-57 loss to Arkansas last time out. Rienk Mast has 13.8 PPG and 7.4 RPG though five games this season while Malevy Leons has 11.9 PPG with 6.8 RPG. Ja’Shon Henry has 11.2 PPG with 5.4 RPG through five games as well and Connor Hickman has 10.2 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Bradley up to this point in the season. Duke Deen also has 9.7 PPG and a team-high 3.5 APG to lead Bradley in assists up to this point in the year. As a team, Bradley is averaging 67.9 PPG on 45.5% shooting from the field, 34.9% from three and 67.9% from the foul line this season.

Stonehill is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Bradley is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games while the under is 16-5 in their last 21 games overall.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m taking Bradley here. Stonehill’s had some decent performances in their first go around as a D-I team, but the problem here is that Bradley’s playing elite-level defense. Sometimes with these defense-first teams, you have to wonder if they have enough offense to get over the hump when laying a big number, but Bradley hasn’t had much of an issue in that department this season. I think this is just going to be a tough go for Stonehill so give me Bradley laying the points here.
