The Central Connecticut State Blue Devils and the Bryant Bulldogs meet Wednesday in Northeast Conference Tournament college basketball action from Chace Athletic Center. Central CT State is 8-23 overall this year. The Blue Devils beat Fairleigh Dickinson in their last game. As for Bryant, they’re sitting at 19-9 and coming off a win over Wagner. Central Connecticut has certainly had a rough year; they’ve only been able to win consecutive games once so far. The Blue Devils’ latest win streak was up to five games, but Central CT pulled off a win over Fairleigh Dickinson to stop the bleeding.

On Monday in the Fairleigh Dickinson matchup, the Blue Devils were down 27-34 by halftime. Central Connecticut hit a 40-32 run from there in a 67-66 comeback win. Nigel Scantlebury led the team on his 19 points with six rebounds.

Over on the Bryant side, they got off to a rough 6-8 start this year, but have only lost one game since January 6. After that defeat by LIU, the Bulldogs got off to another win streak over Central CT, Fairleigh Dickinson, St. Francis BK and Wagner.

In the Wagner game, the Bulldogs were down by six points at the break. Bryant outscored Wagner 43-29 in the second half in an eventual 78-70 victory. Top scorer Peter Kiss finished on 23 points with five rebounds and three assists.

The Bulldogs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven at home and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win. Bryant is 2-5 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils are 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and the under is 20-7-1 in their last 28 overall. The under is 7-2 in Central CT’s last nine after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Bryant here, but it’s going to be a tall order with that line. The Bulldogs are doing well on this current 13-1 streak. They’ve hit 73 or more points in 13 of those 14 games and should put up a good total here as well. The last time these teams met up back on February 17, Bryant pulled off a 75-61 home win. This rematch probably won’t be much different.
