Bryant vs Towson 12/22/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Towson Tigers and the Bryant Bulldogs meet Thursday in college basketball action from Chace Athletic Center. Towson enters this one at 8-4 overall. The Tigers lost to Northern Iowa in their last game. As for Bryant, they’re currently 8-4 as well after a loss to Liberty on Saturday. Towson managed to win five straight games to begin the season, then fell to Fairfield. Since then the Tigers have been on a 3-3 run with losses to Clemson, Navy and Northern Iowa in their most recent three outings. 

In the Northern Iowa game back on Saturday, the Tigers held a 33-31 edge by halftime. Towson was drilled 52-33 in the second half however, and lost 83-66. Lead scorer Cameron Holden put up 15 points and eight boards. 

Over on the Bryant side, they also went 5-1 in their first six games, losing to only FAU. The Bulldogs are 3-3 since then with losses to Brown, Cincinnati and Liberty alongside wins versus Framingham State, Stony Brook and Manhattan. 

In the Liberty game on Saturday, the Bulldogs were up 33-32 going into the second half. Bryant was outscored 50-29 from there in an 82-62 defeat. Antwan Walker was tops in scoring with 17 points and five rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Bryant. This will be an interesting matchup, though; both teams are coming off rough second halves during losses in their most recent games. Bryant didn’t play all that well versus Liberty, but generally the Bulldogs have been competitive in comparable matchups. They’ve hit 71 or more points in three of their last four outings. As for Towson, they’ve still been competitive during this three-game losing streak—outside of the Northern Iowa second half, that is. Still, I like this to be a close one that comes down to the wire.
