BYU vs Dayton 11/25/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Dayton Flyers and the BYU Cougars meet in college basketball action from the Imperial Arena on Friday afternoon.

The Dayton Flyers will try to bounce back from a 76-64 loss to NC State last time out. DaRon Holmes II leads the Flyers in scoring with 12.4 PPG along with 5.6 RPG while Kobe Elvis has 12.2 PPG with 5.2 RPG and a team-high 2.8 APG to lead the Flyers in the assist department. Mustapha Amzil has 11.6 PPG with 5.2 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Dayton up to this point in the season. Toumani Camara also has 12 PPG to lead the Flyers on the glass this season. As a team, Dayton is averaging 60.8 points per game on 41.1% shooting from the field, 25.6% from three and 68.2% from the foul line this season.

The BYU Cougars will be out to rebound after a 75-70 loss to Butler in their last game. Fousseyni Traore leads the Cougars in scoring with 12.5 PPG along with 7 RPG while Spencer Johnson has 11.3 PPG with 5.3 RPG and Gideon George has 10.5 PPG with a team-high 8.3 RPG to lead the Cougars on the glass and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for BYU up to this point in the season. Rudi Williams also has 9.3 PPG with 3.5 RPG and a team-high 3 APG to lead BYU in the assist department up to this point in the year. As a team, BYU is averaging 72.3 points per game on 42.9% shooting from the field, 28.9% from three point range and 65.5% from the foul line so far this season.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but truth be told, for all of the hype that Dayton had coming into the season, they’ve really underperformed in a lot of their recent outings, including scoring 42 points against Wisconsin a couple of days ago and then getting pummelled by NC State. BYU is no small feat either as the Cougars have been scoring at will for the most part this season and I just don’t see Dayton being able to keep up here. Give me the Cougars.
