The NJIT Highlanders and the Cincinnati Bearcats meet in college basketball action from the Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday.

The NJIT Highlanders will try to rebound from a 1-5 start after a 62-57 loss to Wagner last time out. Miles Coleman leads the Highlanders in scoring with 17.8 PPG along with 4.5 RPG as the lone double-digit scorer for NJIT up to this point in the season while Souleymane Diakite has 9.8 PPG with 6.7 RPG. Kevin Osawe has a team-high 7.8 RPG to lead NJIT on the glass while Raheim Sullivan has 2.7 APG to lead the Highlanders in the assist department this season. As a team, NJIT is averaging 60.2 PPG on 41.4% shooting from the field, 31.4% from three and 59.5% from the foul line this season.

The Cincinnati Bearcats will hope to build on their 81-62 win over Louisville in their last game. Landers Nolley II leads the Bearcats in scoring with 16 PPG and 4.4 RPG while David DeJulius has 15.6 PPG with 2.9 APG so far this season. Viktor Lakhin has 10.8 PPG with a team-high 6.7 RPG to lead the Bearcats on the glass and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Cincinnati so far this season while Jeremiah Davenport has 9.9 PPG and 4 RPG this season. Mika Adams-Woods also has a team-high 3 APG so far this season to lead Cincinnati in assists. As a team, Cincinnati is averaging 76 points per game on 45.1% shooting from the field, 34.5% from three point range and 65.3% from the foul line up to this point in the year.

NJIT is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 road games. Cincinnati is 9-25-1 ATS in their last 35 games following an ATS win and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 9-3 in their last 12 home games.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in some spots and Cincinnati hasn’t been as dominant offensively as we’re used to seeing in the past. However, Cincinnati’s still the better team by a fair margin in this game, and I just don’t see any way that NJIT stays in this game. Give me the Bearcats laying the points.
